The Labradoodle originates in Australia. The first intentional breeding (1989)- a standard poodle bred to a Labrador Retriever, was carried out by Royal Guide Dogs in Victoria. The reason was an attempt to create an allergy friendly guide dog. A lady in Hawaii requested a guide dog that would not aggravate her husband's allergies. Over a period of two years, 33 samples of hair and saliva from different labrador retreivers was sent to Hawaii. None was successful. The RGD then tried breeding a standard poodle to a lab. Three puppies were produced. Of these puppies, only one, a white doodle named "Sultan" was successful. From then on, countless requests have been made by people wanting "Doodles"!

Labradoodles are loved not only because of their allergy-friendly coats, they are also loved because of their wonderful temperaments. Doodles are sweet and loving, friendly, active and extremely intelligent! They are easy to train, and they will make you laugh!

Saskadoodle currently has first generation labradoodles. This means a standard poodle bred to a labrador retreiver. We have created amazing puppies! First generation doodles will still shed a bit, but the shedding will be little to almost non-existant. The males will be about 55-60 lbs, and the females will be 50-55 lbs full grown. We breed our dogs for health and temperment. They are especially sweet with a loving nature. They make wonderful family pets!  In the future, we hope to have second generation labradoodles.
