Q: What colours of puppies does Saskadoodle usually have? A: The most common colour is black, which variates from grey/silver to jet black. Most of the doodles are mostly black with silver flecks throughout the fur, and a grey/white beard and spot on the chest. Occasionally we have chocolate and cream puppies also. The chocolate doodles also get very unique blonde highlights. Q: Do labradoodle do better living indoors or outdoors? A: A first generation labradoodle can be either and inside or an outside dog, but he must be conditioned for the climate if he must live outdoors. Also keep in mind that if a labradoodle must live outside, he must have somewhere warm to escape the cold of winter; such as an insulated dog house. Q: How much exercise does a labradoodle require? A: Labradoodle require at least one half hour walk per day, plus some vigorous playtime in the house or backyard. If a doodle is not exercised fully, it can lead to destructive behaviour, such as chewing. Labradoodles that are involved in obedience or agility do extremely well, due to their energetic nature and high intelligence. Q: How big will a labradoodle get? A: Our labradoodles are standard size. The females will be about 45 - 55 lbs and the males will be between 55 - 65 lbs. Standard size labradoodles are about 24 inches (62 cm) at the withers. Q: What kind of grooming does a labradoodle require? A: First generation labradoodles are usually a "wash-and-wear" type of dog that requires very little grooming. The only grooming a first generation doodle requires is a bath and a nail trim about once per month. They should also be brushed about once a week. Some second generation labradoodles do require some clipping occasionally, although it depends on the length of the fur and coat type. Q: Are labradoodles good with children? What about other pets? A: Yes! Labradoodles love children - in fact, most Saskadoodle puppies go to homes that have children. Labradoodles are usually good with other pets, as long as they are introduced while the doodle is a puppy. They love other dogs, as long as they're well socialized when they're young Q: Can you ship puppies to other provinces and countries? A: Yes, we can air-ship puppies to other provinces and countries, although there will be an additional charge for the flight and the puppy's crate. Q: What is the cost of the puppies? A: First generation black puppies are $800, and creams are $1000. Second generation black puppies are $1000, and the creams and chocolates are $1200. All prices are subject to 5% GST. Q: What is included with the cost of the puppy? A: • spay or neuter • first set of vaccinations • microchipping • dewclaw removal • deworming • 2 year health guarantee • Registration with the International Labradoodle Association • Life-long support from Saskadoodle for questions regarding health, diet, training, etc. • Free bag of puppy food to take home with the puppy (only if the puppy is picked up from Saskadoodle ranch) • Copies of the sire and dam's hip and eye certifications • Copy of the sire and dam's pedigree • Bath and nail trim • Plus the puppies are well socialized with people and other dogs. They are also paper trained before they go to their new homes. Q: Do your labradoodles shed? Are they hypoallergenic? A: First generation labradoodles usually shed a little bit, although the shedding is minimal and depends on the dog. Our doodles have gone to homes where there are allergies present in the family. We have never had a complaint from any of our past clients about their Saskadoodle labradoodle aggravating allergies. Second generation labradoodles typically don't shed and are more often 100% hypoallergenic. |
